5-Day Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel, where you’ll receive a full safari briefing from your expert guide. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Great Rift Valley, with a brief stop at a panoramic viewpoint for breathtaking photos. Proceed to Narok, the gateway to Maasai Mara, for a delicious local lunch.
Upon arrival at Maasai Mara National Reserve, embark on an exhilarating afternoon game drive. Track the abundant wildlife, including the Big Five—lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino—along with cheetahs, zebras, and gazelles roaming the savannah.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
Wake up to the sounds of the wild and set off for a full-day safari in the world-famous Maasai Mara. The vast open plains provide the perfect setting to witness the Great Migration (seasonal) and the extraordinary wildlife encounters that make Maasai Mara a must-visit destination. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Hippo Pool while observing hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat.
Return to camp in the evening for a relaxing dinner under the African stars. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at sunrise (additional cost) for a magical aerial view of the reserve.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru
Distance: 300 km | Travel Time: Approx. 5-6 hours
After an early breakfast, immerse yourself in Maasai culture with a Maasai Village Tour (optional, additional cost). Witness traditional Maasai dances, learn about their customs, and explore their unique way of life.
Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge and relax before heading out for an evening game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flamingo population, offering stunning pink-hued views. The park is also home to black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, and numerous bird species.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha (Hell’s Gate National Park)
Distance: 80 km | Travel Time: Approx. 2 hours
Start your day with an early game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, where you’ll witness flamingos, pelicans, and other birdlife, as well as rhinos and leopards.
Later, drive to Lake Naivasha and check into your lodge. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha (optional, additional cost), where you can spot hippos and a variety of bird species.
Visit Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s most unique parks where you can cycle alongside zebras and giraffes. The park is known for its towering cliffs, deep gorges, and geothermal activity. Explore the Hell’s Gate Gorge, home to hot springs and volcanic formations like Fischer’s Tower and Central Tower.
