ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Sri Lanka Fixed Departure

Day 01 -: Arrival Colombo Airport – Dambulla

Arrive at Colombo Airport in Sri Lanka, and meet and greet by your respective chauffeur and you will be starting the journey to Dambulla (approx.4.5 hrs  drive) 

Arrive in Dambulla and check in to your hotel and refresh yourself and explore the hotel and its surrounding nature.

On the way to the hotel if your not tired you may visit Dambulla cave Temple.

 Dambulla Cave Temple (also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla) is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented Caves in the surrounding area. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of gods and goddesses. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters. Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

 Day 02 – : Visit Sigriya rock fortress  & leave to Kandy

 After Breakfast do an excursion to Sigiriya

 Climb the legendry rock citadel in Sigiriya referred to as ‘The Lion Rock’ by locals, Sigiriya became the capital during the reign of King Kashyapa in the 4th century A.D. After slaying his own father, King Dhatusena of Anuradhapura to take the throne and fearing a retaliatory attack from the rightful heir Moggallana who fled to neighboring India, the new King constructed his royal palace on the summit of this 200-metre-high rock with a fortress for his own protection. Walk through the meticulously landscaped Royal Gardens and ascend towards the summit where only ruins of the royal palace now remain. A visit to the fresco gallery with its ancient paintings of the King’s maids in waiting and the Mirror Wall with ancient transcripts that closely match the modern-day Sinhalese language, should also not be missed. In 495 A.D, Moggallana returned from his exile and defeated the King re-instating Anuradhapura as the capital. Sigiriya was then used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century prior to being mysteriously abandoned

Pm: Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. While being the second largest city in Sri Lanka it is also famous for its immense beauty and is named as one of the seven UNESCO declared World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, longest river of the country and misty mountains, Kandy successfully mesmerizes every visitor unsurprisingly.

Kandy City Tour: While on your city tour you will visit one of the world heritages as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankans as Dalada Maligawa& evening witness the cultural dance performance arranged for you.

 Day 03 – : Kandy to Nuwara eliya 

After Breakfast proceed to Nuwara eliya where the Tea gardens are located covering any sites remaining in Kandy if missed due to time constraints.

Next day explore Nuwara eliya leisurely: Nuwara Eliya (City of Lights), blessed with salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery; Surrounded by hills and tea plantations, the town of NuwaraEliya enjoys spring-like weather throughout the year. It is also known as “Little England”, which was the favorite hill station of the British who tried to create NuwaraEliya into a typical English Village. The old brick Post office, country house like hill club with its hunting pictures, trophies and strict formal dinner attire; the 18 hole golf course, horse race course, etc., all remind you of  “England”.

  1. On the way visit Ramboda Hanuman Temple
  2. Proceed to Sita Aman temple visit. You may do an offering and obtain blessings (next day)
  3. Tea Factory visit

 Overnight at Nuwara Eliya

Day 04 & 05 -: Nuwara eliya to Bentota

Bentota is the city of the Golden Beaches. You will be able to relax and feel the spirit of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. The day is divided in between swimming in the water and bathing in the sun. Bentota provides the perfect turf for unfurled vacation at the beach. While enjoying the sun, sea and sand the water sports lovers can enroll themselves in various water sports bringing in the unique pleasure of this locale.

Day 06 -:  Bentota to Colombo

Have your breakfast and will be heading towards Colombo

Colombo is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Located on the west coast, it is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern and colonial impressions. Colombo has wildly varying architecture that spans centuries and depicts various styles. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and Contemporary architectural styles. No other place is this more evident in the heart of the city, the Fort area. Colombo also boasts many shopping malls and department stores that offer brand name clothing at highly discounted prices. Therefore, it has become an important shopping destination among tourists.

City Tour: While on your city tour in Colombo you may visit famous places including Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, Twin World Trade Center towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, and prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship. (Entrance fees to sites not included). For shopping, you may visit Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc.

  1. You will do the city tour and will see Galle Face Green and for a photo stop time here providing which the Traffic and the parking facility is available.
  2. You will see Sri Lanka’s Old parliament and all-star class Hotels around
  3. You will be taken to Ganga Rama Golden Temple.
  4. You will be taken to see the Lotus Pond convention center & you will have some time in ViharaMahaDevi Park for some photo stop.
  5. Lunch Around ( 12.30 to 1.30 pm )
  6. Drop for Shopping in one shopping mall and time on your own 2.00  to 6.00 pm        

 Overnight in Colombo

 Day 07 : – Colombo to Airport

As per your flight details you will be transferred to the Airport accordingly.

Transfer to Bandaranaike International airport for your departure flight (approx.1 hour drive on the highway).
