Bitten by the travel bug but don’t know where you should be going? Looking for a little clarity regarding where to travel next? Keep reading…
A lot of factors can affect your choice of a destination. Beautiful pictures splashed across Instagram & Pinterest can make us long for visiting all those exotic places. But zeroing in on THE ONE final destination can get a little overwhelming. Like with everything else the easiest way to get around this problem is to break it down into steps:
1. Budget
It is always best to know how much money you can spare for your trip. Take into account not just the hotels & flight tickets but also shopping, transport & other minor expenses. Once you have finalized your budget half your work is done.
2. Duration
Do you want a short break? Or something longer, lasting a week or two? The choice of the destination will be greatly affected by the time factor. While you can easily cover Agra or Kaziranga over the weekend something like Rajasthan would need at least a week. And if it’s a long vacation that you are planning then you can even cover multiple countries.
3. Type of tour
Are you planning to go alone or will you be going with your family? Or will the trip be a cozy getaway for you & your partner? Do you prefer the beach or the mountains or cannot be away from the city even on a vacation? While the adventure seekers will love driving a bike up the mountainous terrain of Leh Ladakh, some destinations like Goa are equally popular among families & couples while others like Bali are usually a preferred honeymoon destination.
4. Seasons
There is a reason why some tourist destinations are so crowded at some specific times of the year while wear an abandoned look the rest of the time. Tourist seasons are usually the best time to visit a place, if you do not mind the crowd of course! The main reason being that the weather is pleasant. In India we are blessed to have clear cut seasons & hence planning around adverse weather becomes easier. Hence people flock to places like Kerala & Andaman in the winters while Shimla is a popular destination in April. Unless you are looking forward to playing in the snow! Then December – February would be the most ideal time of the year for you.
Selecting a destination is not difficult. All it needs is having proper information about the place of your choice & being aware of your own likes & dislikes. For the rest of it there is always Basil Leaf Holidays LLP.
