ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 01: Arrival at NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport – Transfer to Phuentsholing
Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport, meet and greet with your driver and transfer to Phuentsholing, a bustling commercial gateway to Bhutan on the Indian border. Check in to your hotel upon arrival and relax after the journey.

Overnight: Phuentsholing

Day 02: Phuentsholing to Thimphu
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities and head to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, nestled at 7,710 feet. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.

Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing – Transfer to Punakha/Wangdue via Dochu-La Pass
Begin the day with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang, where a giant Buddha statue stands overlooking the valley. Continue to the King’s Memorial Chorten and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, drive to Punakha/Wangdue, crossing the scenic Dochu-La Pass (10,170 feet), known for its 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel.

Day 04: Excursion to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)
Take a full-day excursion to Gangtey, a picturesque valley that is home to the Black-Necked Crane, which migrates here each winter. Explore the serene surroundings and visit Gangtey Gompa, one of Bhutan’s most important monasteries. Return to Punakha/Wangdue in the evening.

Day 05: Punakha/Wangdue to Paro via Sightseeing
After breakfast, check out and visit Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel built in 1637. Then, visit the Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, known for its unique blessings by Lama Drukpa Kunley. Continue the journey to Paro, where you’ll check in and have a relaxed evening.

Day 06: Paro Sightseeing
Start with a visit to the National Museum (Ta Dzong) with its collection of Bhutanese relics, followed by Rinpung Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery. In the afternoon, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a historic site, and Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.

Day 07: Paro to Phuentsholing
After breakfast, depart for Phuentsholing and check in upon arrival. Enjoy your last evening in Bhutan at leisure.

Day 08: Phuentsholing to NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport
