Aurangabad - Ajanta - Ellora - 4 Days

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1: Mumbai – Aurangabad

Aurangabad now named as Dharmaveer Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (DCSN)  son of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj whose coronation took place at Fort Raigadh. is well know for its world famous  and UNESCO monuments of Ajanta ( Dedicated to Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhisim) and Ellora (dedicated to Hinduism).  On arrival our representative will escort you to your car and then to your pre-booked hotel.  Afternoon you can proceed for half day city covering Bibi Ka Maqbara ( Replica of Taj Mahal Agra) , The Panchakki or flour meal running on water power which is cmming from about 20 kilometers from the place.  Visit to Devgiri Fort well known as Daulatbad Fort.

Day 2: Aurangabad – Ajanta Caves 

About 100 kms from Aurangabad is a world heritage monument with cave complex of 3o odd caves in two phase.  Dedicated to Hinduisum ( similar to Elephanta Caves near Mumbai) , Buddhisum ( similar to Kanheri Caves inside Sanjay National Park)  and Jainism these caves also includes frescos, wall paintings and sculptures are peak of ancient Indian art.

Day 3: Aurangabad – Ellora 

Not very far is another cave complex – Ellora with a Shiva Temple next door Grishneshwar is one of the 12 Jotirlingas in India.  Ellora  is also a UNESCO world heritage site.   Ellora has one of the finest one stone cave temple  dedicated to Lord Shiva ( one of the 5 Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra out of total 12 Jyotirlinga)

Day 4: Aurangabad – Mumbai

After  relaxing historic tour of Aurangabad transfer to Airport / Railway station to connect onward destination.
