ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 1: Arrival in Mangalore Welcome to Mangalore, Karnataka’s vibrant coastal city. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to your pre-arranged hotel. Mangalore, named after Mangla Devi, is a prominent port city with a bustling trade in cashew nuts and coffee. Discover its charm with visits to pristine beaches, the ancient thousand-pillar Jain temple at Moodbidri, and the revered Manjunatheshwara Temple in Dharmasthala. Don’t miss the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple, dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, known for its spiritual significance.
Day 2: Mangalore’s Heritage and Journey to Udupi After a hearty breakfast, delve into Mangalore’s rich heritage. Explore the 10th-century Mangala Devi Temple and the Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Museum, home to fascinating porcelain, wood carvings, and historical artifacts. Visit local cashew nut and tile factories, and admire the frescoes at St. Aloysius Chapel. In the afternoon, travel to Udupi and check in to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening at Kapu Beach or partake in leisure activities of your choice.
Day 3: Spiritual and Cultural Insights in Udupi Begin your day with a visit to the renowned Shri Krishna Temple, established in the 13th century by Vaishnavite saint Shri Madhavacharya. Experience the unique Navagraha Kindi for viewing Lord Krishna. Explore the ancient Chandramouleeswara and Anantheshwara temples, both over 2000 years old. Later, visit Kudlu Teertha Falls and the Coin Museum. Conclude your day with the mesmerizing lighting and Aarti ceremony at the Durgaparmeshwari Temple.
Day 4: Scenic Drive to Murudeshwar Drive to the picturesque town of Murudeshwar, known for its stunning coastal views. Murudeshwar, located in Uttar Kannada, is famous for the world’s second-tallest statue of Lord Shiva, towering at 123 feet. Check into your hotel upon arrival. Explore the Murudeshwar Temple with its impressive 20-storey Gopura and visit the historical Murudeshwar Fort. In the evening, enjoy the serene Bhatkal Beach and consider engaging in water sports at Netrani Island, about 20 nautical miles offshore.
Day 5: Coastal Beauty of Karwar Journey from Murudeshwar to Karwar, located at the mouth of the Kali River. Karwar’s strategic location has historical significance, having served as a trading hub for Arabs, Europeans, and the British. Relax at the scenic Tagore Beach and explore modern attractions such as recreational parks, a planetarium, and an aquarium. Visit the Ulavi Caves, significant to the Lingayat sect, and the Rock Stone Garden on the Kali River. End your day with a breathtaking sunset view from the Kali River Bridge.
Day 6: Leisure Day in Karwar Enjoy a day at your own pace in Karwar. Take this opportunity to shop for local souvenirs, savor regional delicacies, or revisit any attractions you may have missed.
