Day 1: Explore the Port City of Mangalore in Karnataka

Welcome to Day 1 of your journey, beginning in the vibrant city of Mangalore, one of Karnataka‘s largest and most significant coastal cities. Named after Mangla Devi, it’s renowned for its robust port operations. Upon your arrival, our dedicated representative will warmly welcome you and guide you to your transportation. From there, we’ll make our way to your pre-booked hotel.

Mangalore is a charming coastal city nestled along the Arabian Sea coast, and it plays a vital role as a shipbuilding dockyard and strategic port in South India. The port primarily focuses on the export of cashew nuts and coffee, making it a prominent trade hub. Notably, Roman Catholic influence is deeply embedded in the town’s culture. The city boasts beautiful beaches, the spectacular thousand-pillar Jain temple at Moodbidri, and the Manjunatheshwara temple in Dharmasthala dedicated to Lord Shiva, all of which are essential tourist attractions. Additionally, you should explore the famous Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple, where Kartikeya, Lord Shiva’s elder son, is revered as Subrahmanya.

Day 2: Discover Mangalore’s Rich Heritage and Head to Udupi

After a satisfying breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Mangalore. Visit the historic 10th-century Mangala Devi temple, dedicated to a form of Shakti, and explore the Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Museum, which houses a diverse collection of porcelain, wood carvings, and archaeological and ethnological exhibits. Don’t forget to include visits to the red tile and cashew nut factories and the St. Aloysius Chapel, featuring walls and ceilings adorned with stunning frescoes.

In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Udupi. Upon arrival, check in to your pre-reserved hotel. In the evening, unwind and relax at Kapu Beach, or enjoy leisure activities of your choice.

Day 3: Udupi’s Spiritual and Cultural Charms

Udupi is renowned for its Shri Krishna temple, an iconic site in South India. Founded in the 13th century by the Vaishnavite saint Shri Madhavacharya, the temple allows you to view and worship Lord Krishna through a unique window with nine holes known as the Navagraha Kindi. Explore the adjacent ancient temples, Chandramouleeswara and Anantheshwara, both over 2000 years old.

Visit Kudlu Teertha Falls and the Coin Museum to create lasting memories. In the evening, attend a special lighting and Aarti ceremony at the Durgaparmeshwari temple.

Day 4: Picturesque Drive to Murudeshwar

Today, we’ll drive from Udupi to the scenic coastal town of Murudeshwar, which offers breathtaking views along the way. Murudeshwar, a major city in Uttar Kannada on the Arabian Sea coast, is home to the world’s second-tallest statue of Lord Shiva, standing at 123 feet.

Upon arrival, check in to your pre-booked hotel. Explore the Murudeshwar temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, with its remarkable 20-storey Gopura, considered the tallest in the world at 249 feet. The Murudeshwar fort, standing as a testament to the Vijayanagar dynasty’s history, is a fascinating historical site. In the evening, visit Bhatkal Beach, situated near the Murudeshwar temple, and consider indulging in water sports at Netrani Island, located about 20 nautical miles from the mainland.

Day 5: Journey to Karwar on the Arabian Sea Coast

Embark on a scenic two-hour drive from Murudeshwar to Karwar, a beautiful destination in Uttar Karnataka, situated at the mouth of the Kali River. Karwar holds historical significance as it was used by Arabs, Europeans, and British traders for commerce. The town boasts a picturesque beach named after Shri Rabindranath Tagore, offering a serene backdrop for relaxation.

Additionally, Karwar offers modern recreation parks, a planetarium, and an aquarium for your enjoyment. Explore Ulavi Caves, of religious importance to the Lingayat sect, and the Rock Stone Garden on the Kali River, which is a unique attraction for visitors. As the day concludes, don’t miss the opportunity to witness a stunning sunset from the Kali River Bridge.

Day 6: Leisure Day in Karwar

Day 6 is yours to explore Karwar at your own pace. Take this opportunity to indulge in some local shopping, savour the region’s delectable delicacies, or revisit any spots you may have missed in the previous days.

Day 7: Return to Mumbai with Cherished Memories
