ITINERARY OVERVIEW

06 Nights – 07 Days

Day 01: Arrival in Guwahati

On arrival in Guwahati, Basil Leaf representative will assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel.  Rest of the day at leisure.  Overnight at Guwahati.

Day 02 : Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park

After leisurely breakfast at the hotel proceed for visit to Kamakhya Temple, a popular Hindu pilgrimage site ( https://www.instagram.com/p/B_zVbEmpU77/ ). At the time of the Ambubashi festival, this temple is thronged by over a million devotees. After paying homage to the mother goddess Kamakhya, return back to the hotel and hit the road to the famous Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check into the Jungle resort.  Explore the nearby Tea Estate in the afternoon followed by a cultural show in the evening. Overnight at Kaziranga.

Day 03: Kaziranga

Early morning at around  5.30 am you will be picked up by the vehicle to explore the central and eastern range of the Kaziranga National Park via Elephant and Jeep safari respectively.  Later, return back to the hotel.  Enjoy lunch with the Photographs and memories of the safari.  Day at leisure.  After Lunch, you will be picked by Jeep at around 0330pm to explore the western range of this wildlife sanctuary via jeep.  Overnight at  Kaziranga.

Day 04: Kaziranga –Shillong

After Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and proceed to Shillong (280 kilometers in 6 hours).  On the way, have lunch at the Borapani Umiam Lake, a tranquil lake surrounded by sylvan hills.  On arrival, check-in at the hotel.   Afternoon, explore the local market.  Overnight at Shillong.

Day 05: Shillong-Cherrapunjee-Shillong

Post breakfast proceed for a day trip to Cherrapunjee, the heaviest rainfall destination in the world.  Visit Noh-ka-Likai and a few caves in and around Cherapunjee.   Later, return back to Shillong.   On the way, visit Shillong Peak and Elephanta Falls.  Overnight at Shillong.

Day 06: Shillong-Guwahati

After leisurely breakfast at the hotel proceed for a sightseeing tour of Shillong which includes Hyadri Park and Ward Lake. Also known as the ‘Scotland of the East’, Shillong is the former capital of Assam and home to the Khasi highland tribes. If you wish you can enjoy local food at the restaurant.   Return back to the hotel.  Evening at leisure.  Overnight at Shillong.

Day 07: Guwahati-Departure

After having your breakfast at the hotel.  Check-out from hotel transfer to Airport / Railway station to connect onward destination.
