Buddhist Trail - Bodhgaya-Rajgir-Nalanda-Varanasi
ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 01: Arrival in Bodhgaya Upon arrival at Bodhgaya, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. Later in the evening, visit the renowned Mahabodhi Temple, a pivotal site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.

Day 02: Exploring Bodhgaya After a hearty breakfast, embark on a comprehensive city tour of Bodhgaya. Explore Sujata Village, the tranquil Niranjana River, and various international monasteries that reflect the global Buddhist community.

Day 03: Bodhgaya to Rajgir & Nalanda Excursion Following breakfast at the hotel, set out for an excursion to Rajgir, a site of immense significance for Buddhists. Visit Gridhkutta Hill, Bimbisar Jail, and Ajatashatru’s Fort. After lunch, drive to Nalanda, one of the world’s earliest universities and a historic center for Buddhist scholarship. Established in the 5th century BC, Nalanda was a prestigious monastic university where both Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavir are believed to have taught. Pay tribute to the legacy of Xuanzang, the renowned Chinese scholar who studied here in the 7th century AD. Return to Bodhgaya in the evening.

Day 04: Bodhgaya to Varanasi (248 km – 5 hrs 53 mins) After breakfast, drive to Varanasi, a city sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and proceed to Sarnath to visit the Dhamekha Stupa and Deer Park. Return to Varanasi for an evening at leisure.

Day 05: Varanasi Exploration & Departure Begin your day with an early morning boat excursion on the River Ganges, witnessing the vibrant and spiritual rituals at the ghats. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, enjoy a city tour including Bharat Mata Temple, the Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Benaras Hindu University with its art gallery, and the Mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. In the evening, transfer to Varanasi airport for your onward journey.
