Day 1: Arrive in Rome (2 Nights)
Welcome to Rome! After checking in to your hotel, take the afternoon to relax and unwind. In the evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow travelers. You might like to take a leisurely stroll around the vibrant streets of Rome, soaking in the lively atmosphere.

Day 2: Rome Sightseeing and Leisure
Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Rome with your local specialist. Visit the Vatican City and the awe-inspiring St. Peter’s Basilica, home to Michelangelo’s famous sculpture, the Pietà. Don’t miss the chance to join an optional visit to the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums. Explore ancient Rome, including the mighty Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Afterward, enjoy free time to discover more sights or join an optional tour of the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

Day 3: Rome to Venice (Marghera) (2 Nights)
Travel through the stunning upper Tiber valley, passing the picturesque hilltop towns of Orvieto and Umbria, and into the rolling vineyards of Tuscany. Cross the Apennine Mountains as you make your way to the magical city of Venice.

Day 4: Venice Orientation and Free Time
Cruise through Venice by private launch and arrive at the heart of the city—St. Mark’s Square. Marvel at the Bridge of Sighs, the majestic Doge’s Palace, and the Byzantine Basilica of St. Mark, adorned with beautiful glass mosaics. Visit a local glassblowing workshop on Murano Island to see Venetian craftsmen at work. Spend your afternoon exploring Venice at your own pace, or take an optional lagoon cruise to Burano Island for a leisurely lunch.

Day 5: Venice to Verona to Florence (2 Nights)
Depart Venice and travel west to Verona, the romantic city made famous by Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Visit the Roman Arena, where concerts are still held, and see Juliet’s balcony. Continue your journey through the culinary region of Emilia Romagna and arrive in Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance.

Day 6: Florence Sightseeing and Free Time
Florence is a treasure trove of art and history. Enjoy a guided walking tour with your local specialist, visiting the Baptistry with its famous carved bronze doors, the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Piazza della Signoria. Afterward, experience a demonstration of fine leatherwork, and enjoy free time to shop for high-quality Italian leather goods and 18-carat gold jewelry.

Day 7: Florence to Assisi to Rome
Travel through the scenic Tuscan countryside into Umbria, arriving in the mystical town of Assisi. Visit the birthplace of St. Francis and explore the medieval ramparts and charming streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue your journey back to Rome, where your tour concludes.
