ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 01: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong (99.5 Kms – 2H 40Min) Welcome to Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India! Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to Shillong. En route, visit the stunning Umiam Lake (Barapani), the largest artificial lake in Meghalaya, surrounded by lush hills. The Water Sports Complex offers optional activities like row-boats and paddle-boats at additional cost.
Arrive in Shillong, often referred to as the “Scotland of the East,” and check into your hotel.

Day 02: Shillong Local Sightseeing After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Shillong. Visit the Shillong Golf Course, one of India’s oldest golf courses, known as the “Gleneagle of the East,” set amidst pine and rhododendron trees at 5,200 feet altitude. Explore Wards Lake, an artificial lake nestled in a beautiful garden, and the Botanical Garden with its diverse range of exotic plants.
Next, visit the Don Bosco Museum, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich cultures of Northeast India through a collection of cultural artifacts and paintings.
Experience a local Archery Show (optional), a unique blend of sport and cultural tradition where local archers shoot at targets in a fascinating display of skill and chance.
In the evening, explore Bara Bazaar and Police Bazaar for an authentic Shillong shopping experience. Discover local handicrafts, bamboo artifacts, traditional Khasi silk skirts, and enjoy locally grown fruits and forest-made honey.

Day 03: Shillong to Kaziranga (229 Kms – 4H 43Min) After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable biodiversity. Kaziranga, located in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam, is famous for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses, tigers, elephants, and various bird species.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Enjoy an exhilarating Jeep Safari with a knowledgeable naturalist, and explore the park’s rich flora and fauna. The evening is free for you to explore the local Crafts Center or visit an Assamese village.
Overnight: Kaziranga
Day 04: Kaziranga Safari Begin your day with an early morning Elephant Ride at 5:00 AM, a unique way to experience the vast grasslands and diverse wildlife of Kaziranga. Spot one-horned rhinos, wild buffalo, tigers, and various bird species, including the crested serpent eagle and Bengal florican, from the vantage of an elephant.
The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore additional local attractions.
Overnight: Kaziranga
Day 05: Kaziranga to Guwahati (193 Kms – 3H 57Min) After breakfast, transfer back to Guwahati, the commercial hub of Assam. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
In the evening, enjoy an optional River Cruise on the Brahmaputra, taking in the spectacular scenery of Assam from the longest river in India.

Day 06: Guwahati Local Sightseeing After breakfast, check out and begin your sightseeing tour of Guwahati. Visit the Kamakhya Temple, a significant Shakti Peetha located atop Nilachal Hill, offering panoramic views of the Brahmaputra River and the city below.
Explore the Navagraha Temple, dedicated to the nine celestial bodies, and a center for astrological research.
If time permits, visit the Assam State Zoo, which features a natural forest and a diverse range of animal habitats, and Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, a cultural center showcasing the art and heritage of Northeast India.
Overnight: Guwahati
Day 07: Departure from Guwahati After breakfast, transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
