Day 1: Elephanta Caves & South Mumbai
Begin your Mumbai exploration with a morning ferry ride to Elephanta Island, home to the ancient Elephanta Caves. This one-hour journey reveals rock-cut temples dating from the 5th to the 8th centuries AD, renowned for their intricate sculptures, including the famous Maheshmurti – a depiction of Lord Shiva with three heads representing the creator, preserver, and destroyer of the universe. The island’s name, Elephanta, originates from a large stone elephant once found at the landing, now housed at the Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Byculla.

Kanheri was also a renowned university center of its time.

Day 3: Shopping and Departure
