Western Taiwan Tour

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

06 Nights – 07 Days

Day 1

Arrival at the airport & transfer to your hotel. After check in spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 

After breakfast we start our Taipei city tour. Visit the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China, Taipei 101 Tower, Lungshan temple which was built in 1738, National Palace museum & night market.

Day 3

After breakfast head out to the North Coast. Visit the Yehliu Geo Park, a landscape of honeycomb and mushroom rocks eroded by the sea. Proceed towards the Sea of two colours where the waters are blue & yellow. Go to the Golden Waterfall & the Jiufen village. Visit Shifen which is famous for its sky lantern festival where people create a Chinese lantern with a wish written on it & set it into the sky.

Day 4 

After breakfast set out for the Sun Moon Lake which is located in the mountains of the Nantou & is the largest water body in Taiwan. Enjoy a boat ride & visit the Wen Wu temple located in the perimeter of the Sun Moon Lake. Visit the Holy Monk shrine which was constructed for the famous monk Tang Xuanzang who contributed greatly to Chinese culture and the spread of Buddhism in China. Visit the Te Hua village & the Ita Shao. Enjoy some cycling around the scenic lake.

Day 5 

Take a cable car ride & visit the Formosan Aboriginal village. Next proceed towards Tainan (first capital city in Taiwan). Enjoy your dinner on the Tainan local cuisine tour.

Day 6

Visit Anping which is a small district in Tainan. Proceed towards Chihkan Tower which is one of the best known historical sites of Tainan. Next visit Kaohsiung which is a massive port city in Southern Taiwan. End your day with a cruse on the Love River.

Day 7

After breakfast visit the Dragon & Tiger Pagodas which is a temple located at Lotus Lake. The seven story tower was built in 1976. Visit the Ten Drum Park which was once a busy sugar mill but had been left disused for years. Though it was permanently closed in 2003 the factory is still intact from rusty machinery to molasses storage tanks delivering a nostalgia of years gone by. Proceed for the Cijing historical walk & be mesmerized by the sunset at the British Consulate before transferring to the airport for boarding your flight for your hometown.
