ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (50.8 km – 1 hr 19 min)
Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro Airport, meet your guide and transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital at 7,710 ft. On arrival, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the city’s highlights, including the towering Kuensel Phodrang Buddha Statue, the iconic King’s Memorial Chorten, and the majestic Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and central monastic body. Finish your tour with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 02: Thimphu to Punakha via Dochu-La Pass
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha/Wangdue. En route, stop at Dochu-La Pass (10,170 ft.) for panoramic views of the Himalayas. On arrival in Punakha, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Punakha Dzong, a historical fortress built in 1637, which served as the seat of government. Explore the “Palace of Great Happiness,” and visit Chhimi Lhakhang, the famous Temple of Fertility. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 03: Full-Day Excursion to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)
After breakfast, take a full-day excursion to Gangtey Valley, known for its Black-Necked Cranes that migrate from Tibet. The valley, nestled at 9,840 ft., offers serene landscapes and is home to the beautiful Gangtey Gompa monastery. In the evening, return to your hotel in Punakha/Wangdue.

Day 04: Punakha/Wangdue to Paro (113 km – 2 hrs 52 min)
Drive from Punakha to Paro, stopping at the Royal Botanical Park in Lamperi, which boasts a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Upon arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum housed in the Ta Dzong, featuring a fine collection of Bhutanese arts, antiques, and religious relics. Explore Rinpung Dzong, an architectural marvel and the administrative heart of Paro. The rest of the evening is free for leisure.

Day 05: Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the Drukgyel Dzong, an iconic fortress. Then embark on a hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest, perched on a cliffside at 10,240 ft. (approximately 2 hours from the base camp). Also, visit Kyichu Monastery, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples.
Overnight: Paro
Day 06: Excursion to Chele-La Pass
After breakfast, head to Chele-La Pass (13,088 ft.), Bhutan’s highest motorable road, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and memorable landscapes. Return to Paro in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening at leisure.

Day 07: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey.
