ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 01: Arrival at NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport – Transfer to Phuentsholing (152 km / Approx. 3 hrs 30 min)
Arrive at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB) for a warm welcome and transfer to Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s gateway from India. This vibrant commercial town offers a blend of Bhutanese culture and Indian influence. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and unwind.

Overnight: Phuentsholing


Day 02: Phuentsholing – Thimphu (165 km / Approx. 4 hrs 30 min)
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities and begin your scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, nestled at 7,710 feet above sea level. Check in at your hotel, and in the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, the fortress housing the Bhutanese government and monastic body, offering spectacular views and historical significance.

Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Kuensel Phodrang, home to the majestic Buddha Dordenma statue, offering panoramic views of the valley below. Next, explore National Memorial Chorten, a symbol of peace and spirituality, and the Folk Heritage Museum to gain insights into Bhutan’s traditional way of life. In the afternoon, visit Sangaygang Viewpoint for sweeping views, Changangkha Monastery, and the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the takin. Conclude your day with a visit to the Tashichho Dzong if you haven’t yet explored it fully.

Overnight: Thimphu


Day 04: Thimphu – Paro (50 km / Approx. 1 hr 15 min)
After breakfast, transfer to Paro. En route, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, a 13th-century temple built by the legendary Iron Bridge Builder, Thangthong Gyalpo. You will have to cross a traditional bridge to reach this historic site. On arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum housing valuable Bhutanese artifacts, and Rinpung Dzong, an iconic fortress known as the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.”

Day 05: Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a historical fortress offering scenic views of the Paro Valley. Then embark on a memorable hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest, perched dramatically on a cliff. The 2-hour hike rewards you with breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility. Later, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, before returning to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 06: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes.
