ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1: Arrival at NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport – Transfer to Phuentsholing (152 km / 3 hrs 39 min)
Arrive at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, where our representative will greet you. Enjoy a scenic drive to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan, situated on the northern edge of the Indian plains. This vibrant commercial town offers a first taste of Bhutanese culture. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.

Overnight: Phuentsholing


Day 2: Phuentsholing – Thimphu (165 km / 4 hrs 34 min)
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city (7,710 ft.). Check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening exploring the city. Visit Tashichho Dzong, a stunning fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and religious institutions.

Day 3: Thimphu Exploration
Post breakfast, visit the Kuensel Phodrang to marvel at the Buddha Dordenma statue, offering sweeping views of Thimphu. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a revered monument, and the Folk Heritage Museum for a glimpse into Bhutanese traditions. In the afternoon, visit Sangaygang Viewpoint for panoramic views, followed by Changangkha Monastery, the Takin Preserve Centre (home to Bhutan’s national animal), and return to Tashichho Dzong for a deeper exploration.

Day 4: Thimphu – Paro (50.3 km / 1 hr 13 min)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Paro. En route, stop at the Tamchog Lhakhang, a 13th-century temple built by the legendary Thangthong Gyalpo, known for its ancient iron bridge. Upon arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel. Later, explore the National Museum of Bhutan housed in the Ta Dzong, showcasing Bhutanese art, relics, and ancient thangka paintings. Also, visit Rinpung Dzong, an iconic fortress that serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro.

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the historic Drukgyel Dzong, followed by a hike to the world-famous Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest (approximately 2 hours from the base). Enjoy breathtaking views and a spiritual experience at this cliffside monastery. Later, visit Kyichu Monastery, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, revered for its cultural significance.

Overnight: Paro


Day 6: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s scenic beauty and cultural wonders.
