ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (50.8 km, approx. 1 hr 20 min)
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, receive a warm welcome before setting off to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital. After a smooth hotel check-in and some time to refresh, embark on an afternoon tour. Highlights include Kuensel Phodrang, home to the towering Buddha Dordenma statue, the sacred National Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong, Bhutan’s majestic fortress that houses government offices and monastic bodies. Conclude with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum to gain insight into traditional Bhutanese culture.

Day 02: Thimphu to Punakha/Wangdue via Dochu-La Pass (101 km, approx. 3 hrs)
Enjoy a scenic drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochu-La Pass (3,150 meters), where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking Himalayan views and the iconic 108 chortens. Upon arrival in Punakha, check into your hotel, then visit Punakha Dzong, the “Palace of Great Happiness,” an architectural masterpiece that served as Bhutan’s former seat of government. Later, enjoy a peaceful excursion to Chhimi Lhakhang, the “Temple of Fertility,” founded by the legendary “Divine Madman,” Lama Drukpa Kuenley.

Day 03: Punakha/Wangdue to Paro (113 km, approx. 3 hrs)
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Paro with a stop at Lamperi Royal Botanical Park, where you can marvel at Bhutan’s diverse flora and fauna, including rare species of orchids and rhododendrons. Once in Paro, check into your hotel and explore the historic Ta Dzong, Bhutan’s National Museum, home to fascinating artifacts, followed by a visit to the architectural wonder Rinpung Dzong, the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.”

Day 04: Paro – Excursion to Taktsang Monastery
Today, embark on an iconic trek to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the “Tiger’s Nest.” This rewarding 2-hour hike offers awe-inspiring views and a chance to visit one of Bhutan’s holiest sites. Afterward, discover the heritage of Drukgyel Dzong, a historical fortress, and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples.

Day 05: Departure from Paro
Following a delightful breakfast, check out and transfer to Paro Airport for your departure, carrying memories of Bhutan’s enchanting landscapes, rich heritage, and warm hospitality.
