ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 01: NJP Rly Station/IXB Airport – Phuentsholing (152 Kms – 3H 37Min)
Arrive at NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport, where you will be greeted and transferred to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. Located on the northern edge of the Indian plains, this bustling town is known for its commercial vitality. Check in at your hotel and relax.

Overnight: Phuentsholing.


Day 02: Phuentsholing – Thimphu (165 Kms – 4H 34Min)
After breakfast, complete the necessary immigration formalities and begin your journey to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital city (7,710 ft.). On arrival, check in at your hotel. In the evening, explore the majestic Tashichho Dzong, known as the Fortress of the Glorious Religion, offering a blend of history and breathtaking views.

Day 03: Thimphu – Dochu-La Pass – Punakha/Wangdue (71.6 Kms – 1H 54Min)
After breakfast, visit key highlights in Thimphu, including the colossal Buddha Statue at Kuensel Phodrang, the King’s Memorial Chorten, and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, drive to Punakha/Wangdue (4,300 ft.) via the scenic Dochu-La Pass (10,170 ft.), where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. The pass is also home to 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chortens, symbolizing merit for all beings. On arrival in Punakha/Wangdue, check in at your hotel.

Day 04: Punakha/Wangdue – Paro (113 Kms – 2H 52Min)
After breakfast, check out and visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, a historic fortress that served as the seat of government until the second king’s reign. Explore the Chhimi Lhakhang, also known as the “Temple of Fertility,” built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Later, drive to Paro and check in at your hotel. The evening is free for leisure activities.

Day 05: Paro
After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Paro. Visit the Ta Dzong National Museum, home to an exceptional collection of Bhutanese antiques, followed by the Rinpung Dzong, which serves as the administrative seat of Paro. In the afternoon, explore the Drukgyel Dzong, a heritage site after its destruction in 1951, and the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

Day 06: Paro
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro Airport for your onward journey.
