ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (50.8 km / Approx. 1 hr 20 min) Arrive at Paro Airport and receive a warm welcome from our representative. Transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city, nestled at an altitude of 7,710 ft. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Spend the evening leisurely exploring Thimphu’s vibrant town by foot, taking in its unique local sights and ambiance.
Overnight: Thimphu
Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Start with Kuensel Phodrang, home to the iconic Buddha Dordenma statue, offering panoramic views of the city. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a revered monument, and the Folk Heritage Museum for a glimpse into Bhutanese traditions. In the afternoon, visit the Sangaygang View Point, the serene Changangkha Monastery, and the Takin Preserve Centre, where Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin, resides. End the day with Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress that serves as Bhutan’s religious and administrative center.
Overnight: Thimphu
Day 03: Thimphu – Dochu La Pass – Punakha/Wangdue (101 km / Approx. 3 hrs) Enjoy a scenic drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochu La Pass (3,150 meters) to take in stunning views of the Himalayas. On arrival in Punakha, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, a grand fortress built in 1637, once the seat of Bhutan’s government and still the winter residence of the Je Khenpo. Then, take an excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, known as the “Temple of Fertility,” built by Lama Drukpa Kunley, the “Divine Madman.” The evening is free for leisure.
Overnight: Punakha/Wangdue
Day 04: Punakha/Wangdue – Paro (113 km / Approx. 3 hrs) After breakfast, drive to Paro, stopping at the Royal Botanical Park in Lamperi, home to a variety of flora, fauna, and endangered species. Upon arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, explore Ta Dzong, the National Museum with an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, and Rinpung Dzong, known as the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels,” which now houses Paro’s administrative offices. The evening is at leisure.
Overnight: Paro
Day 05: Paro Excursion After breakfast, head to Drukgyel Dzong, a historical fortress with panoramic views of the valley. Then, hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, or “Tiger’s Nest,” perched dramatically on a cliffside, a rewarding two-hour trek with stunning views. Conclude with a visit to Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples.

Day 06: Departure from Paro After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your departure, taking with you memories of Bhutan’s timeless landscapes and cultural wonders.
