ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Delhi – Agra – Sankasya – Lucknow – Varanasi – Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Vaishali – Kushinagar – Lumbini – Kapilvastu – Sravasti – Lucknow

 

Day 01: Delhi
Arrive at Delhi & meet our representative. Check in at hotel. Afternoon visit the city of Delhi visiting, Lakshmi Narayan temple, Gandhi Museum. Drive past India Gate, Presidents’ house “Rashtrapati Bhawan”, the Government buildings and the Parliament house and Qutab Minar. After city tour transfer to hotel.

Overnight: Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi – Agra (213 Kms – 3H 27Min)
After breakfast drive to Agra. Check in at Hotel. After lunch visit the world famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Overnight: Agra.

Note : (Taj Mahal remains closed on Friday).

Day 03: Agra – Lucknow (336 Kms – 4H 5Min)
After breakfast drive to Lucknow en-route visit Sankasia,where Lord descended from heaven after giving sermon to his mother after 7 years of her death. Later continue drive to Lucknow.Check in at hotel.

Overnight: Lucknow.

Day 04: Lucknow – Varanasi (320 Kms – 6H 30Min)
After early breakfast visit Lucknow city and drive to Varanasi. Check in at Hotel. Evening free for own activities.

Overnight: Varanasi.

Day 05: Varanasi
Early morning boat ride on River Ganga to see the bathing Ghats. After lunch, in the afternoon visit Sarnath along with Pirith ceremony (where Buddha delivered his first sermon).

Overnight: Varanasi.

Day 06: Varanasi – Bodhgaya (255 Kms – 5H 40Min)
After breakfast drive to Bodhgaya. Check in at Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight: Bodhgaya.

Day 07: Bodhgaya
Morning after breakfast visit Mahabodhi Temple & Bodhi Tree, Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana River, Sujata Temple – which is across the Niranjana river. Afternoon visit to Dungeshwari caves.

Overnight: Bodhgaya.

Day 08: Bodhgaya
After early breakfast drive to Rajgir the vulture Hill, hot spring in Rajgir, world peace Stupa, Bamboo’s Garden. Continue to Nalanda to visit the ruins of world’s oldest University. Return back to Bodhgaya.

Overnight: Bodhgaya.

Day 09: Bodhgaya – Vaishali (143 Kms – 4H 38Min)
After early breakfast drive to Vaishali. Check in at hotel. Visit Maha Parinirwana Temple (where Buddha took his last breath) and Rambhar Stupa (cremation site of lord Buddha), Japanese Temple.

Overnight: Vaishali.

Day 10: Vaishali – Kushinagar (214 Kms – 5H 7Min)
After breakfast drive to Kushinagar,50 km east of Gorakhpur, which is celebrated as the place where the Buddha died and was cremated.Originally called Kushinara,it is one of the four major Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Buddhist monasteries flourished here till the 13th century. Sights include the Rambahar stupa built to house Buddha’s relics after cremation, the Mahaparinirvana temple with its reclining Buddha figure, the modern Indo – Japan Sri Lanka Buddhist center and numerous monasteries.

Overnight: Kushinagar.

Day 11: Kushinagar – Lumbini (139 Kms – 4H 17Min)
After breakfast drive to Lumbini (Nepal) which is the Birth place of Lord Buddha. While going to Lumbini, stop at India/Nepal border for Visa/Immigration formalities.

Overnight: Lumbini.

Day 12: Lumbini – Sravasti Via Kapilavastu (187 Kms – 5H 6Min)
After breakfast morning visit Sravasti, en route via Kapilavastu – where Buddha’s childhood was spent & also visit ruins of the Palaces. Later continue to drive to Sravasti & on arrival check-in at hotel. After lunch visit Sravasti, where Buddha spent his 24 monsoons,visit Jetvana and Ananda Bodhi Tree.

Overnight: Sravasti.

Day 13: Sravasti – Lucknow (179 Kms – 4H 2Min)
After breakfast drive to Lucknow for return back to home.
