ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1: Mumbai – Hubli – Badami Your Karnataka adventure begins with your arrival at Hubli Airport. From there, embark on a scenic drive to the historic city of Badami, renowned for its ancient temples and striking rock-cut architecture.

Day 2: Badami – Pattadakal – Aihole – Hospet Start your day with a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Badami, the erstwhile capital of the Chalukyan Empire (543-757 AD). Known historically as Vatapi, Badami boasts a rich collection of Hindu and Jain temples, along with a Buddhist cave temple reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves. The city is celebrated for its exquisite sculptures and frescoes.

Next, travel to Pattadakal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site formerly known as Raktapura. Marvel at the intricate sculptures of the Durga Temple and explore the rock-cut Shiva Temple in Aihole. This serene village, surrounded by red sandstone hills and tranquil farmlands, is the birthplace of the Southern Dravida style of temple architecture. Notable is the Meguti Temple, constructed with just 630 small stone blocks.

Continue your journey to Hospet, located just 13 km from the impressive Vijayanagar ruins at Hampi, another World Heritage Site. Optionally, you can visit the Tungabhadra Dam or Pampa Sagar.

Day 3: Hospet – Hampi – Hospet Dedicate this day to exploring the grandeur of Hampi, the illustrious capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Discover the impressive ruins of palaces, temples, and sculptures. Key highlights include the Vitthala Temple, a World Heritage monument dating back to the 16th century, and the Virupaksha Temple, renowned for its beautifully painted mandapam ceiling. Don’t miss the Hazara Rama Temple, notable for its large Ganesha and Narasimha images.

Day 4: Hospet – Anegundi – Hubli Travel to Anegundi, an ancient city predating Hampi and believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Anegundi, historically known as Kishkindha, served as the first capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Visit the picturesque Pampa Sarovar, renowned for its white lily flowers. Explore the Anjaneya Temple on Anjanadri Hill and the Anegundi Fort, which houses temples dedicated to Durga and Ganesh.
