ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1: Mumbai – Cochin
Upon arrival in Cochin, a Basil Leaf representative will greet you and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. After some rest, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Cochin.

Cochin, or Kochi, is a city spread across islands and promontories, beautifully nestled between the Arabian Sea and the Backwaters. Founded in 1341, when a flood created a natural safe port, Cochin became a major harbor for the spice trade on the Malabar Coast. Its strategic location on the trade route between Europe and China attracted settlers of various religions, including Jews and Christians, who established their own communities and places of worship.

Explore Fort Kochi, a quaint village along the Arabian coastline, famous for its Chinese fishing nets, Dutch cemetery, synagogue, and historic churches. Later, enjoy an enchanting Kathakali performance, a traditional dance-drama that intricately blends facial expressions, body movements, and storytelling. The evening is free for leisure.
